The Ryuta Sanui Chair of Research
Ryuta Sanui died suddenly and quickly while on a family vacation of a brain aneurysm in 2018 at the age of 39. He left behind a wife and two small boys. He was a Japanese citizen but made his life here in California when he married his wife who was born and raised in the Bay Area. He was a loving husband and a very hands on father. He loved tennis, people, animals and life. His unexpected death left a big hole in his family’s life. We learned that this was genetic and there is a possibility of his two small sons having or one day developing a brain aneury
Because of his death and what we have learned about brain aneurysms, we felt it was important to help fund research on this silent killer so that someday, other families won’t have to live with the pain of losing a loved one to a brain aneurysm.
