Dr. Ananth Vellimana is an Assistant Professor of Neurological Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine. His clinical practice involves care of patients with cerebrovascular diseases and skull base tumors. Dr. Vellimana’s laboratory primarily focuses on examining acute brain injury after SAH and understanding the role of innate immunity in neurovascular dysfunction after SAH. Other areas of research interest in the laboratory include development of a novel nanoparticle probe to detect microvessel thrombosis after SAH and understanding the transcriptomic changes in blood clots of patients with ischemic stroke.
