Daniel’s Story

Sadly, my husband Daniel died from a brain aneurysm. He was only 38 years old. He had been experiencing severe migraine headaches and went to the local Emergency Department with complaints of a migraine headache unlike any other he had experienced. His headache was accompanied by neck pain and stiffness. He was diagnosed with a migraine headache and a cervical strain. He was released with no further diagnostic tests. The following day, he returned to the Emergency Department with a more significant headache and sensitivity to light. Again, he was treated and released. He continued with significant headaches over the next week and went back to Emergency Department the following weekend. While still there, he suddenly became comatose, seized, and was declared brain-dead. An autopsy revealed a posterior communicating artery aneurysm.

The love of my life for 9 years was gone. Daniel was the kind of man everyone loved, he was always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. My heart had been ripped out and I am so lost without him. To all the families out there who have experienced this horror, I am so sorry. My family’s prayers are with all of you and your loved ones. I wish I had known more about aneurysms. Maybe I could have done something sooner.
