In response to so many in-person support group meetings being canceled, we hope this will help patients and families find some comfort during this difficult time.
Anirudh Penumaka, M.D., M.Sc. is a 4th year resident in neurosurgery at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Boston Medical Center residency program. He is from Hunt Valley, Maryland and attended medical school at the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC. During medical school, he performed research into immunotherapy for glioblastoma and also completed a master’s degree in neuroscience from the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. Prior to entering medical school, Ani graduated cum laude from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical and Physical Biology, and a minor in economics. During his undergraduate studies, he performed research into ion channel biology.
He is currently a research fellow at the Broad Institute, under the supervision of Dr. Benjamin Neale, and Dr. Justin Moore. His research interests include brain aneurysm genetics, and neuro-oncology. In his free time, he enjoys rowing on the Charles river in Boston, and traveling with friends and family.
This one hour webinar will begin with a brief overview of the Brain Aneurysm Foundation followed by a short talk with questions for Dr. Penumaka and end with an open Q&A with participants.

This was an interactive session on post-pandemic impacts on neurological disease, strokes and brain aneurysms hosted by Lenox Hill Neurosurgery.
Dr. Siddiqui discussed the current state of healthcare during COVID and provided a video presentation of an aneurysm procedure.
Dr. Jankowitz discussed the role telemedicine is playing at the hospital and the impact on patient care.
Dede and Stan discussed in an open forum the importance of support services for survivors and their families during COVID. They also provided insight for patients with delayed treatment plans due to COVID.
